CACT Football & Education Academy
Here at Cleeve Park School we understand the importance of supporting you through your development both inside and outside of school. In tandem with the traditional courses offered at Post 16, we have offered a Football Academy pathway for many years. Students enrol at Cleeve Park School to become part of our Post 16 cohort and are taught within a classroom setting at either T or A Levels / Applied Level, therefore earning the grades and/or UCAS points for further education.
The Cleeve Park School & Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) Post 16 Football and Education Academy is aimed at all students aged 16-19 years who are interested in combining their education with the life of a professional footballer. We offer two pathways; an Academic Football Pathwath and a Sports Elite Pathway in alongside our traditional sixth form offer.
The Academic Football Acdemy Pathway allows you to gain high quality A Levels / Applied Level 3 qualifications whilst continuing to progress with your passion for football.
The Sports Elite Pathway provides the option of studying a vocational T Level in Sport (equivalent to 3 A Levels) while playing in an academy environment after school.
All Football Academy students will compete within a competitive league while studying, training with FA & Fifa accredited coaches and playing in The Valley Cup at the Charlton Athletic Football Stadium.
Both programmes can provide routes into professional and semi-professional football, as well as educational opportunities such as university, American sports scholarships, employment or apprenticeships. There is further information in the following video:
There are opportunities to attend dedicated CACT open evenings and trials - see here for details.
Once you have completed or booked your assessment with CACT please complete the Sixth Form Football Academy online application form.
