Resilience Day 2025
July 3rd 2025
The objective of the day is to develop student resilience, with a particular focus on demonstrating resilience when working with others. The day will place huge emphasis on teamwork, collaboration and working to deadlines.
Students are working to different themes for each year group, including Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Mantle of the Expert, Team Work and Being a Role Model. Below is a round up of the day:
Today has been a brilliant day!
All around the school people have come together to strive for their best work. We have witnessed so much resilience, first-hand, when we saw everyone struggling, working and supporting each other. This is exactly what makes our school so special - YOU!
Year 7 have been making unique board games. To achieve this they crafted bits of scrap cardboard, paint and paper, creating innovative and wonderful results! ‘Fun,’ ,marvellous,’ ‘enjoyable,’ ‘creative’ and ‘persevere!’ were key words we heard in Y7 rooms. The buzz and pride in their work and collaboration was contagious.
Simultaneously, Year 8 have been focusing on crime scenes. Most of them have been separated into groups; costume making, script writing, creating models and so much more. We were transported to 1888 London, shocked by the hideous murders of Jack the Ripper. With everyone taking part in figuring out this murder mystery, we hope he has been brought to justice.
Year 9 have been tinkering away in the garden (those tomatoes, beans and flowers look soooo promising!), exploring their imagination with blackout poetry and making deliciously wholesome smores. Yum! Yum! Yum!
A big thank you to all who helped organise, who have taken part, and the teachers who supervised it. Today has been truly wonderful, and I think we can all say that we can't wait to do it next year!
