20 March 2020

20th March 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Following the recent announcement from the Government regarding the role schools will play during the current health crisis, I am writing to inform you of the plans we have put in place as a response to this.  We remain open for children who are vulnerable and for children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.  I would like to remind you that the Government guidance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision) for key workers is that:

Parents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response include those who work in health and social care and in other key sectors (see link). Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home. And every child who can be safely cared for at home should be

As of Monday 23rd March 2020 and for the foreseeable future, we will be operating a completely different timetable at Cleeve Park School.  We will make the learning as relevant as possible but it will not follow the national curriculum and we cannot guarantee your child/ren will be taught by a teacher.  Your child/ren will always be supervised by an appropriate adult.

Below is an example of how our day will look for your child/ren.

During this period of time we will continue to maintain our usual working practices and expect all of our students to do the same.  This will include following our behaviour policy, wearing our school uniform and attending every day.  The canteen will be providing food but the offer will be reduced.

If your child is working from home, they may also find the timetable below useful to follow as It will provide a sense of routine for them.

As a number of our students and staff are now self-isolating we are undertaking a deep clean for key areas of our school such as toilets, corridors, entrances and our canteen.  This will take place over the weekend.  We continue to maintain thoroughly cleaning our school each day and are also encouraging all to follow the Government guidance on the importance of hand washing and are following the Catch it, Bin it, Kill it procedure.  School will be open at 8am on Monday morning.

We are all thinking of you at this really difficult time and will do everything we can to maintain contact with you and your child/ren.  Please let them know that all the teachers and support staff here at school will miss them and we are looking forward to welcoming them back as soon as is possible.

Yours faithfully,

Jenni Tyler-Maher
