Moving to Google Classroom

1 July 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

We wish to inform you that as from Monday 29th June, Cleeve Park School will be moving to a new home learning platform known as Google Classroom. Work will no longer be set using Ruler. This process will begin with work being set for KS4 and KS5 students on Google Classroom before we move onto KS3 students the following week. The reason for this change is to help us improve the remote learning experience of our students. With this change, students should be able to easily locate the work being set for them and be able to find resources to help them as they complete the tasks. Teachers can also give clear and immediate feedback specific to the work submitted by the child.

Google Classroom can be used by your child at any time through any device with internet capabilities—including phones, tablets and computers. Google Classroom can also be used by students to ask their teachers questions about their assignments. Our teachers have already started uploading work for students in preparation of its start. Login details for your child will be sent to them through their school email.

Password: 8 character password which can be found using school email

We expect this to create a resurgence in the amount of work being completed and also ensure teachers are able to give good feedback to students regardless of whether the child is at school or not. Training will be provided to students in a number of different ways. Students and parents should look out for video tutorials on the school website, information in the school newsletter, instructions during head of year assemblies and tutorials in their school email.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
