Continuing development of DofE scheme.

Cleeve Parks Duke of Edinburghs Award scheme continues to develop and offer opportunities to our. Only a few weeks ago Mrs Cherry our DofE co-ordinator visited St James Palace to receive a special recognition award for her work with the DofE group over the last 6 years. Having inspired and supported over 100 students to achieve bronze awards, more than 35 silver and in the last year 3 to gain the highest level gold awards, Mrs Cherry was nominated for the award by Ben Bullen from the Bexley Youth Service

Mrs Cherry said she was surprised and delighted by the award, as she had not been told that the invitation to attend the ceremony at the Palace was to receive this Award.

The presentation itself was made by Paralympic Gold Medal winner Mickey Bushell.

Now Mrs Cherry is organising the training of other staff so that the scheme can continue its success. Training is being paid for by the very generous sponsorship of £1000 by local solicitors Woollsey Morris and Kennedy. More news about DofE and the exciting projects and expeditions taking place this year will appear on the web site.
