The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

Poppy Appeal Box

The Royal British Legion sent in two large boxes of poppies and a large box of school equipment (pencils, rubbers, sharpeners etc). We started selling on Monday 5th November and we have SOLD OUT on day four, lots of our pupils and staff brought items and made donations.

On this special year, the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War One, the response in school has been overwhelming.

Thanks to resources supplied by the History Department students have also been discussing Remembrance and WW1 in Form Time. The school will observe a minutes silence at 10.55am on Friday 9th November.

The total amount will be sent to us when the tins have been collected and emptied by the British legion, but going by the weight of the tins we have done very well indeed.

So thank you all for your support and enthusiasm in learning more about this topic.
