Consultation statement

Cleeve Park School is a successful 11-18 co-educational school which is part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT). The school aims to educate and prepare young people from all backgrounds for life. We firmly believe it is our responsibility to provide a caring, supportive and challenging environment in which our students are able to thrive, a place where all are valued to make positive contributions to the school community and go on to become responsible and independent members of society.

The students of Cleeve Park are our greatest asset. They are on a pathway to becoming confident articulate and thoughtful young people who continually amaze us with their talents and vision. The school has a thoroughly inclusive approach to all we do. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, January 2015, the school was judged overall as ‘good’. Inspectors commented on ‘an atmosphere of mutual respect and tolerance’.

The schools talented staff are dedicated to providing a diet of education that is inspiring, stimulating and thought provoking. There is a ‘strong focus on high quality teaching’ Ofsted 2015. At every opportunity we set out to enhance our students’ intellectual, social, moral and emotional development. Together working in partnership with parents and carers, we successfully foster and develop a positive attitude in our young people and a belief in achieving beyond their expectations. Our students show a ‘very positive attitude to learning’ Ofsted 2015.

We believe our current admissions criteria has met the needs of the school over recent years as the school has gone from strength to strength in terms of producing well rounded young people ready to be successful members of society. The school has achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and is striving for ‘Outstanding’ and results at both GCSE and A level now place the school as one of the best achieving schools in the area. We are therefore proposing not to change our admission criteria, but are consulting with current and prospective parents and other stakeholders on the policy for the 2019 admissions.
