Drop-Down Day 2017

22nd June 2017

Dear Parent/Carer

Year 12 Drop-Down Day – Tuesday 18th July

We are writing to advise you that all year 12 students will be off timetable on Tuesday 18th July.  We have arranged a day of activities to prepare students for their future after they finish Sixth form with us.  These include;

  • A talk by Goldsmiths University covering the UCAS procedure; finance, accommodation, admissions (ambassadors will also be attending from the university to answer any questions that the students may have about university life)
  • Enrolment onto the UCAS Apply site in readiness for the application procedure
  • Writing and up-dating Personal Statements and CV’s
  •  Life skills workshops
  • Outside agencies will be carrying out mock interviews to prepare students for the level of scrutiny they will undergo during real-world interviews; whether in academia, as they seek to secure places in higher or further education, or in the workplace

As you will see from the above, whether your child is planning on taking up a place at university, an apprenticeship or getting a job, the above skills will help to prepare them for their next important steps.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Mrs Adamthwaite via the 6th Form Study Centre.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Z Osman

Head of Sixth Form
